An Intimate Wedding at Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como

As a Lake Como wedding photographer, I love celebrations like this — quiet, deeply personal and shaped by the place where they happen. Set on the shores of Lake Como, Liset Oier and Massimo Rossello celebrated an intimate civil wedding at Mandarin Oriental, surrounded by around twenty of their closest family and friends. The day unfolded slowly, beginning with a boat ride across the lake in a different look before returning to the hotel for the ceremony, portraits and an intimate dinner. Elegant and deeply personal, the celebration brought together the beauty of Lake Como with the warmth of a gathering shared with the people closest to them.
A BOAT RIDE ON LAKE COMO
Before the ceremony, Liset and Massimo took to the lake for a private boat ride, enjoying a few quiet moments together before the day unfolded. In a different look for the occasion, they moved through the waters of Lake Como surrounded by mountains, open sky and the stillness of the lake. It was an unhurried beginning to a deeply personal celebration — a chance to simply enjoy being there, together, before everything else began.
Getting Ready at Mandarin Oriental
Back at Mandarin Oriental, the pace became quieter as Liset and Massimo got ready for the ceremony. Liset wore a dress created by a seamstress who has worked for Dior, paired with Valentino shoes, while Massimo chose P.A.R.O.S.H. for his own look — a fitting detail for a celebration so closely connected to Italian fashion and design. Surrounded by the gardens and the beauty of the lake, the final moments before the ceremony unfolded naturally, with family and friends slowly gathering around them.
An Intimate Civil Ceremony by the Lake
With around twenty guests gathered at Mandarin Oriental, Liset and Massimo exchanged their vows in an intimate civil ceremony overlooking Lake Como. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the ceremony felt deeply personal — quiet, elegant and full of small moments shared between the people who mattered most. The lake and gardens provided a naturally beautiful setting, while the floral arrangements brought a soft, refined touch to the scene. Between the ceremony itself and the embraces that followed, the afternoon unfolded without excess — intimate, warm and entirely focused on the couple and the people around them.
Portraits by the Lake
After the ceremony, Liset and Massimo took a little time for themselves. Moving through the gardens and along the lake, they had a quieter moment away from the gathering — a chance to slow down and simply enjoy being newly married. The landscape did most of the work: the lake, the gardens and the changing light creating a series of portraits that felt natural rather than staged.
An Intimate Dinner at Mandarin Oriental
As the evening settled in, the celebration continued at Mandarin Oriental with an intimate dinner shared with their closest guests. The setting was effortlessly elegant: a table dressed with delicate floral arrangements, the lake beyond the gardens and an atmosphere that remained relaxed and intimate — more like a gathering of people who had come together to celebrate than a formal reception.
A quiet celebration on the shores of Lake Como, shared with the people who mattered most. From the first moments on the water to an intimate dinner at Mandarin Oriental, Liset and Massimo’s day was a reminder that the most memorable celebrations don’t need to be grand to feel extraordinary.
