A Positano Wedding on the Amalfi Coast

As a Positano wedding photographer, I love celebrations that allow the place to become part of the story. This destination wedding unfolded between the hills of Sant’Agata, the gardens of Massa Lubrense and the heart of Positano, before continuing along the Amalfi Coast towards Villa Eliana. The day moved naturally from getting ready in the quiet of their hotels to an intimate ceremony at the Chiesa Madre di Santa Maria Assunta in Positano. After the ceremony, the couple wandered through the town and down to the beach, where even strangers stopped to applaud the newlyweds, before taking the road along the coast for a few portraits together. It was an unhurried celebration shaped by the landscape, the people they met along the way and all the little moments in between — a wedding that felt completely at home on the Amalfi Coast.

From Sorrento to Positano

The day began quietly around Sorrento, with the couple getting ready separately in Sant’Agata and Massa Lubrense. With just a few quiet moments before leaving for Positano, the morning gradually gave way to the anticipation of the ceremony. The Chiesa Madre di Santa Maria Assunta, in the heart of Positano, became the setting for an intimate ceremony surrounded by family and friends. From the stillness inside the church to the music, the movement and the small gestures around them, the day unfolded naturally — with no need to rush what was meant to be enjoyed.

Through Positano and Along the Amalfi Coast

After the ceremony, the couple stepped back into the streets of Positano, where the town became part of the celebration. People stopped to watch, strangers applauded and the newlyweds simply walked through it all together. From Positano, we continued along the Amalfi Coast, stopping along the way for a few portraits before heading to Villa Eliana. There was no need to create a scene or spend hours on perfectly posed photographs. We simply took our time, followed the landscape and let the scenery shape the images — from the narrow streets of Positano to the cliffs overlooking the sea. The result is a series of photographs that feels spontaneous and connected to the place, capturing both the energy of the coast and the intimacy of the two of them.

An Italian Celebration at Villa Eliana

As the evening arrived, the atmosphere changed completely. At Villa Eliana, the quiet pace of the day gave way to dinner, music, drinks and a celebration shared with the people who had travelled to Italy to be there with them. From intimate moments between the newlyweds to the energy of the dance floor, the evening unfolded without much direction — exactly as a good party should. This is the kind of celebration I love to photograph as a Positano wedding photographer: natural, personal and shaped by the people and places around it.

A wedding shaped by Positano, the Amalfi Coast and all the moments in between — unhurried, spontaneous and completely their own.
